The Motet began in 1954 as an a cappella choir.  Directed by Dave Jones, over 500 area singers have performed in The Motet.

In 2012 the Motet sang its last series of concerts.  During the 58 years of the Motet, hundreds of singers have been members of our group. We would like to extend our appreciation to all of our members that have given their talents to make the Motet Singers so outstanding.  You might have been a member that toured throughout the United States and Canada, sung at the White House, made several television specials, appeared on TV and radio, recorded eight CDís or sung in numerous banquets and conventions.  Throughout the years, you might have sung in many churches on tours and in the Louisville area.  Whatever you did and whenever you were with us, we thank you.

The group has published eight CDs of religious music.  Motet  CDs are no longer available.  You may watch videos of the Motet on the You Tube website.  You Tube Videos

The Motet has established the David L. Jones Scholarship Fund.   This fund honors Dave's 50 years of contributions to The Motet Singers and vocal music in Louisville.  Click here to read about it and make your contribution!
